Fuzzy are committed to putting on world class events. Not just in terms of our killer production values, but also by making sure that we take care of the environment: no environment, no outdoor festivals! We put a lot of effort into taking care of our venues, the communities that host us, the suppliers that deal with us and you: the patrons who enjoy our events.

Our sustainability policy covers all aspects of event planning including development of innovative systems for energy consumption, transport, water usage and waste management.

The Parklife tour now aims to follow the latest international sustainable event standards (ISO20121 for you enviro-boffins out there). We also follow guidelines set out in in the UN Global Compact, that sets standards for labour practices, environmental impact and human rights (making sure that no Fuzzy merchandise comes out of sweatshops).

All this means that no one has to have a bad time for you to have a great time!

Parklife is the inner-city festival for forward thinking music lovers, hosted in our capital city’s most beautiful parks, because we know you prefer to dance on grass rather than concrete.

We see ourselves as temporary caretakers of the parks in which our events are carried out and we feel privileged to have access to these venues. We ensure respect for and acknowledgement of traditional owners, and that all aspects of our events consider the biodiversity, ecological sensitivity and heritage conservation of our beautiful venues.

Local communities are consulted in the planning process. We aim to use local suppliers, local products and support local businesses. Our noise management plans conform to EPA restrictions to ensure that the music is pumping inside the venue, not outside.

We also promote selected local charities that encourage local sustainability and social responsibility through our charity initiatives.

Parklife will be implementing a recycling deposit system across all shows in 2011. As part of our move ‘Towards Zero Waste’ (an initiative to keep valuable resources out of landfill), patrons pay a $1 deposit with every drink. This deposit is fully refundable and won’t cost you a cent as long as you recycle you drink containers. Simply bring the empty container to a Recycling Station and get a $1 ticket to use at the bar, the merchandise tent or to redeem for cash – easy!

Help make this event clean and green: no one likes to dance on rubbish!

Making sure we don’t damage the grass simply isn’t green enough for us! Fuzzy have donated trees to Centennial Parklands, Brisbane City Botanic Gardens, Adelaide Botanic Gardens and the parks of Melbourne (through the People and the Parks Foundation). We really appreciate it. Every time you recycle a can, pick up a cigarette butt, put you rubbish in the bin and respect the event boundaries helps us put on bigger and better festivals for you!

In 2011 Fuzzy is again partnering with Recovery Water to help minimise the environmental impact of plastic bottles used at our festivals and support some ground breaking environmental initiatives. The team at Recovery Water have a background in Environmental Science so they know how important it is to support the people who are looking for answers to solving the big issues. Money from every bottle sold goes towards environmental research to keep our oceans free of plastic waste and to support water projects that give impoverished communities access to clean drinking water.
